------------
SPV USA is proud to bring you a true heavy metal event:
HELLOWEEN's "KEEPER OF THE SEVEN KEYS: THE LEGACY"

Undoubtedly one of the most influential heavy metal bands to spring forth from the 1980s, HELLOWEEN proves to be one of the primary architects of today's power metal sound. Combining the melodic elements of masters like Judas Priest with the hard-edged speed metal sensibilities of the early thrash scene, HELLOWEEN crystallized these sonic ingredients into one singular force, becoming legends in the process.

Formed in Hamburg, Germany by guitarists Kai Hansen and Michael Weikath, bassist Markus Grosskopf, and drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg, HELLOWEEN released its self-titled debut in early 1985. The band soon found an international audience with its full-length "Walls of Jericho" album, as fans and critics gushed over the band's thrash-fueled interpretation of classic heavy metal. The band was ready for the big time, and evidently, the big time was ready for them as well!

In 1987, the arrival of "Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 1" was a landmark recording and the single most influential power metal album to date. It proved to be an inspiration to the next generation of metal musicians worldwide and is still revered today. Extensive global touring cemented their place among the greats, and the band set off to out-do themselves once again with "Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 2."

While the world was opening up to their sound, internal troubles at the time kept the band from moving into the upper stratosphere: line-up changes (including the passing of original drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg) proved a major challenge to the band, yet rather than quit, they simply re-invented themselves. Over the next decade, HELLOWEEN went on to release some startlingly forward-thinking and experimental metal records, with the group always trying to push their abilities as songwriters.

Today, all has come full-circle with the release of "Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy." This double-album is perhaps the truest reflection of the career of the band, combining their sincere hard-edged metal sensibilities with a flair for crafting memorable melodies that often wander far outside of the traditional. Forget the standard 'focus tracks' and the like: this album is meant to be enjoyed as a whole, as any great metal record should be. This is a undeniably grand return for the masters of HELLOWEEN!
