I generally hate mash-ups. Anyone with a Mac and too much time can do them. But still, I thought this Eminem mash was funny.

Over the weekend, I played the second half of my new batch of songs for Blake.
OK To Go Packing My Bags Something New (some song that may be named something else, but walked in as "The Big Vacation") How it Ends Please Stop Leaving
And one more, I think. A lot are in great shape, just walking in the door. We kicked the tires on a few of them, switched a couple things, and I have some homework to do on a couple. But it's all really strong. I'm really happy with these songs.

Lesley Gore, sold out, Joe's Pub 8/15/05
The last of five sold out shows, and I'm told, the best one. Certainly the loosest, with the most spirit, especially from Lesley, who was on fire. What an amazing run. Thanks for all of you who came out.

Too much time on your hands? Let this help out.
I'm on a somewhat respectable level 6.

Yesterday, I sat down with Blake to play him the first of the new songs for my next record. I think it went really well. It's going to be a good one, I think. Songs I played him so far are Run Ever Since (like we don't know that one by now) You Could Be Anywhere Whatever You Say Girlfriend Weather Sweet Anesthesia
Blake came up with some cool edit concepts, many of which have strengthened the music, I think. We didn't get through the whole record, and when I got back home, I just fell asleep for two hours. It's amazing seeing the process starting up again. I'm really proud of these songs, and think a great record will come of them.
Today we travel to WFMU to record live on the air with Lesley. Tomorrow we drive to Philly and tape "World Cafe". It is non-friggin-stop around here.

Great, great show. God, I love playing "California Nights." That's a fun one. I never knew it before all this. It's a great song.
Liz Phair was the early show. It was fun to see them together.
